Monday night my mother and I went fishing. (Virginia Beach, VA) For a good while, she was having no luck, and I was having negative luck. In other words, my line kept breaking and at one point, I had to walk up to the bait shop and but a new hook and weight. Believe it or not, I was still having a good time. Anyway, I felt something on my line and when I reeled it in, it turned out to be a little shark. It was about 18 inches long from head to tail. A guy near us had already caught two sharks and he cut the shark's head and tail off for me. I felt the head and it is now in my freezer with the body as proof that I caught a shark.

That night I had a nightmare. I dreamed that a hurricane had come through and everything flooded and everyone was trapped on the roof of my apartment building, just like in New Orleans. A huge shark in the water kept circling the building. I knew it was Jaws because I could hear the theme music. Jaws wasn't saying anything, but I knew that he was looking for his son. I just tried to blend into the crowd and look like I wasn't there. Then I woke up.

My shark has been in the freezer all week and tomorrow I'm going to take it to my father's house so he can help me skin and cook it. I know shark meat isn't like regular fish, so wish me luck!

Hello, it's BlueHour from Orangeless Trees. The wonderful Guza helped me to set up a livejournal, so I can finally post as a user.

Here's a recipe for shark kebabs that's supposed to be good

You can probably also use any recipe for tuna and/or swordfish steaks, using shark instead

Excellent! Now you can join some communities. :o) Thanks for the recipe. I think I'm just going to fry it like regular fish though.

I'm friending you and sending you an invitation to Orangeless Trees.

I'll try to accept it, though I'm still learning the basics of livejournal. I'll send out a friend invitation and add Orangeless Trees to my flist as soon as I get the hang of things
