This makes me wonder if Coretta knew how bad it's going to be and decided not to stick around see the Supreme Court undo what she and Martin lived (and died) for.

Bush nominated Roberts to replace O'Connor, but when Rehnquist died, he ended up replacing Rehnquist as Chief Justice. Alito is replacing O'Connor. My only hope is that Roberts will turn out to be similar to O'Connor, because Alito is said to be to the right of even Scalia (who thinks women shouldn't be allowed to vote.)
