Sick Update

I visited the doctor today and he confirmed my suspicions: That I've been paid a belated visit from the Chicken Pox Fairy. I didn't feel so hot on Sunday and I didn't feel any better yesterday, plus a few bumps showed up in weird places. [TMI]The very first bump showed up under my left breast and for a minute there, I thought I had cancer.[/TMI] Then the next few showed up places like the inside of my wrist, my armpit, and in the question mark of my ear.
I had also been very tired and yesterday I felt like I had a fever. I didn't have my own thermometer so I tried out the old wives tale of closing my eyes and rolling my eyes around behind my eyelids to see if they hurt. For the record, they did. So I decided to break in my new health insurance and go to the doctor.
Believe it or not, I've felt better today than I have the last two days. I have spots on my face, ears, scalp, chest, stomach, and back and about five total on my arms and legs, and I don't even feel particularly itchy (yet). The itching goes from one place to the other, like from one shoulder to behind my ear to my scalp. At the doctor, my temperature was 99.2 F (37 1/3 C).
I also got a blood test because I've also had pain underneath the nail of my big toe for the past 2 days, to the point of not being able to wear a shoe, and the doctor said my case seems to be pretty mild so far (knock on wood), seeing that I am 27 years old, and he wants to be sure it's chicken pox and not something else. Hopefully, I don't develop pneumonia.
Well, now I have my medicine, Benadryl, and new thermometer so I'm going to rest now.
On the bright side, I seem to have broken though my weight loss plateau. According to the doctor's scale, I've lost 2 more pounds, and I was weighed while wearing jeans and sneakers. :o)
