I went to the doctor today and he gave me the pass to go back to work tomorrow but I have to go back in two weeks for a checkup and another blood test. Provided I feel good enough in a couple of days, I'll be back skating and swimming too. Hopefully I'm not sick again until January 2007 because I've used up all of my sick days and vacation time.

Just out of curiosity, what strokes do you swim?

My default stroke is the dog paddle. :oP My best real stroke is the crawl, but I'm also pretty good at the backstroke and sidestroke. Right now, I'm working on perfecting the breaststroke, I can't seem to get the arm stroke and the kick at the same time. Once I get that down, I'm going to start working on the butterfly.

I'm a flyer, myself. I'm decent at the freestyle stroke and semi-decent at the backstroke. My breaststrok leaves much to be desired.

I swam the 100 Fly, 200 Individual Medley (fly, back, breast, free)in high school.

Hmmm, breaststroke? Frog kick, while acting like you are scooping icecream to yourself with your palms and then then pushing it out. Of course, it must be easier said than done with some people. *Kick out while you're scooping and bring it in as you're pusing out*

Just ignore me...really.

Butterfly can be a real bitch. I kept getting tendonitis...that was lovely. :)

I've never swam competitively, just for fun. I took swimming in college for my physical education requirement, which is where I learned the different strokes. About a year ago some of my relatives and I started swimming once a week for exercise and a way to hang out together.

I know what I am supposed to do for the breaststroke, I just lack coordination. :o)

Like I said, it's easier said than done for some people.

My dad says that I was born for the water. I've always loved swimming.
